Assistant Deputy Commandant for Programs, Programs and Resources
Brigadier General Robert T. Meade

Brigadier General Meade is a native of Greeneville, Tennessee and received his commission in May 1995 following completion of Platoon Leaders Course and graduation from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

He has held numerous positions in the operating forces including Logistics Officer, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines; Inspector-Instructor, Direct Support Motor Transport Company A, 6th Motor Transport Battalion; Assistant Logistics Officer, 11th Marine Regiment where he deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM I; Future Operations/Plans Officer, 1st Force Service Support Group (1st FSSG) where he deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM II; Executive Officer, MEU Service Support Group 15; Current Operations Officer, 1st Marine Logistics Group where he deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 10; and Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (AC/S G-3), 1st Marine Logistics Group.

He has held command at the company, battalion, and regimental level including Landing Support Company, 1st FSSG; Combat Logistics Battalion 5 where he deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 12.1; Combat Logistics Regiment 4; and Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Southern Command 2019 where he deployed to Central and South America.

He has served on the joint staff and multiple headquarters positions including Section Head, Prepositioning Programs, Plans, Policies, and Operations (PP&O), Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps (HQMC); Deputy Division Chief, Joint Operations Division Pacific, Deputy Director for Regional Operations (Joint Staff, J35); Amphibious Warfare Branch Head, Expeditionary Warfare Division, (OPNAV N95), Chief of Naval Operations; Executive Assistant to Deputy Commandant, Programs and Resources, HQMC; and Military Assistant to the 37th Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps.

He assumed his current duties as Assistant Deputy Commandant for Programs, Programs and Resources Department, HQMC in June 2025. 

He is a graduate of The Basic School, Logistics Officers Course, Expeditionary Warfare School (Distinguished Graduate), Naval War College, and National War College.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of South Florida, a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College.

Brigadier General Meade’s personal decorations include the Legion of Merit (with two gold stars), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with four gold stars), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with three gold stars), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
